And it doesn't matter if the car will be petrol, diesel, electric, nuclear powered, just everything, just a 500hp limit, there will be different concepts (Dakar also runs petrol, diesel, electric). Same castle, it doesn't matter if 500 hp is crammed into a VW Up or a Ford Transit. There's always talk about luring new car companies, but in the last 10 years or so I haven't noticed all the car companies of the world literally flowing in and entering the ms. I think this simple rule would attract more entrants, even unknown ones, I wouldn't mind it at all, let's put some reasonable financial cap on a set budget and leave it up to the car companies, the privateers, what powertrain and castle they pour it into, just cap it at 500hp. I probably wrote a stupid thing, but is it really that bad? Would it really have less takers from around the world? I haven't noticed all the car companies flowing out of the Rally1 for example.

Well, I have the opposite opinion. There's been mastodons that have been overpowered before, and it's gone nowhere. The power limit is hard to control and the financial limit is too. I remember in F1 they used to have tanks to "cool" the brakes, which would drain after take off, thus circumventing the weight limit. So for me, on the other hand, I would abolish the super expensive WRC1 and promote the much cheaper WRC2 to the top class. Or something along those lines. Limit the volume, restrictor, leave the weight high so there's no reason to invent superlight and superexpensive materials. Or allow cars as similar to production cars as possible, so that car companies have a reason to enter and not invent non-existent super specials with "stuck on" logos in the series.

I know I'm going to get hated, but the Skoda with "electric" was 3rd overall in the Rally Weiz back in 2021 and puts out 700hp in rallycross with an American engine. Don't write to me about the nonsensical 200kW recharge, they are testing cars for 650kW recharge. I'm not saying it's the only way, but Toyota has a 2.5L hybrid, so there will always be some way from series to rally. But you can't assume that if the road is straight, you can fly 140 there regardless of the rocks. Pirelli has written that teams don't even want the more durable tyres because then their rims crack and the handling is worse. Maybe gravel RZs without rocks are the way to go, or maybe just tarmac for rallying and leave the terrain to the buggies.
