I'm very pleased, I didn't expect this kind of result here. The times got better and better but in the car I was driving just the same. Everything worked perfectly - from the car to the weather forecasts. Paddon has done a great job - very consistent - he deserves his podium!
Very, very good, very relieved. We still have a small problem with the car so lucky to get here. A massive thanks to everybody supporting me - at home and at the team. I can't have wished for anything more from here.
After the problems earlier I didn't expect a podium. It's a good result and it's important for the team to get a finish like this.
"We had a disastrous Friday so to finish fourth is a lot more than we expected. Not the performance of the year, certainly, but solid points and some good experience."
Okay, nice to keep this place, but I'm disappointed to lose third. It's been a very hard rally. A big mistake from me earlier and I'm sorry to the team for that.
"It would be nice to get some points here," he says. "Maybe a little too careful in a couple of places but I really enjoyed it."
"Really difficult. Lots of rocks and surprises on the stages. I tried to balance my pace with the conditions."

I think we have a driveshaft or some problem, we don't have traction.. we have to check what is going on.
Just about finishing. Mads has hit trouble, not good.. but we'll keep going. Not important to risk everything in the powerstage.

Just saving tyres for the powerstage and we'll see what we can do. First on the road won't be easy.

In this one I pushed a bit more, in the next one i'll take it easy again and then a push on the Powerstage.
Not pushing hard at all, we have a comfortable pace and we're now driving very very slowly. Nothing to gain and everything to lose.
We have to learn a bit more about the problem. It's more than brakes..
"Important to finish the rally on a good note. Keeping a good rhythm with no risks, bringing good points for the team who have done a good job."
We're getting there. First stage wasn't perfect for us, we were a bit too hard on the tyres, we'll look after them a bit more. All okay.
Generally quite happy how this stage went. Really have to be precise, it's really narrow with stones in the sides. I have a good feeling!

We have some problems with the intercom, sometimes I can't hear the codriver, but it's okay.

Just trying to get some sort of a rhythm before the powerstage, but so loose in there and difficult. We'll see, maybe giving it a go.

I'm cruising completely in this one, I was expecting to lose more! The rally win will be the most important for the championship, maybe going for extra points, why not..
First stage and we didn't want to go too slow for Mads, but he had a problem and we'll take it easy. Now in a bit of a no-man's land.
Boot open in the stage "I went wide in a corner, very bad pacenote.. a lot of things happened at the same time and I went off. Lost the brakes too."

Just trying to get around and enjoy the driving. Didn't feel like a great stage, but doesn't look so bad.
It's okay, quite a lot of junctions, tried to go a bit too fast into them, but it was fine.
"Car is perfect now, no problems at all. Difficult.. but we just need to keep fighting."
"Nothing very important today to do but get manufacturers points for Hyundai and learning car setup for Poland."

One of the slowest stages i've ever done, just saving the tyres now. Very very loose and quite tricky.

We hit a big rock in the line and broke part of the drivetrain. We strapped it up as best we could but coming into this stage I thought it was all over. I don't want to be a drama queen but when it happened it ripped my heart out.
"A difficult day but I can be happy with my own driving."
"I can smile because we managed to do so many kilometres with broken suspension and we should still finish in the top six."
It's ended okay. No risks for us in this stage - we're being careful looking at all the drama around.
"A slow puncture again. Earlier it was a valve coming out. Maybe that's happened again. Maybe just bad luck." And what about the battle with Paddon? "I'm not thinking about it. I'm doing my own thing - just trying to keep track of my punctures."
Two fantastic days for me. I never said leading was impossible, but I knew my chances were very small. A lot of things have happened today. It's been very rough this afternoon. This one was better and I could really enjoy it.
It's been a learning day - an interesting one. I enjoyed the stages this afternoon, even with the slow-shifting gearbox.

"I am happy to have this position but of course not happy for Paulo because I always enjoy a good battle."
He looks very upset but doesn't say anything at the stage end. He stops a short distance after the control. WRC TV crew report a gearbox problem.
Stopped into the stage (Km 35.7)
"I heard I was in the lead just before the stage. This one was really rough. I got into a good rhythm. A bit cautious maybe but a clean stage. We still need to finish this incredibly long day."
Pretty good. I felt uncomfortable on the last one, and had a puncture. The ride height is perhaps a bit low but I'm happy that my driving rhythm is coming back.

"We got a flat tyre after just 2km and had to stop and change it."
Retired. The gearbox issue unable to be fixed on the road.
We had a spin midway through. In itself that wasn't a problem, but the engine wouldn't restart. We were winding it over and over and that cost us about 10 sec. Soon after we saw Tanak, and then we decided to take it easy and protect the car - it's so rough.
"I saw Ott was stopped and slowed a little after that. Later on, I tried to avoid a huge rock and nearly put the car in a ditch."
The WRC 2 frontrunner is stopped 5km into the stage.
In that case I may have a damper problem, there was one loose rock in the middle of the road right over a crest - I drove over it with the middle of the car but I don't know if it did something under the car...
Stop into the stage (Km 12.3)
His car has a flat right-rear tyre, a damaged left-rear wheel rim and - most worryingly - is stuck in fifth gear. He doesn't hang around to chat.
We have a little gear-shift problem - it's changing slowly. A bit of a distraction. Otherwise okay.
"I find a big rock inside the road, I go out of the road and hit a big stone!"
"Stage was very abrasive, saved the tyres a bit, maybe a bit too much. Tyres look really good, one more stage to go."

It's a very nice stage. A lot of people here, very good. Will be watching the road a lot, big stones on the next stages.
We'll keep doing what we're doing. The next stage will be crucial.
The mechanics have done an incredible job: the gearbox and the whole steering were changed. It wasn't easy to drive before, but we managed to get it back to service.
A little mistake I made in one of the hairpins, but i'm quite happy with the time.
We have to keep fighting and do our best. This stage was really bad, we got caught in our own dust, but we made it through and we'll carry on.

Really really good, we have a small advantage with the road position but he (Ogier) has the advantage with experience. We'll lift the car up a bit in service to conserve the car.
"Really tough. This one was quite tricky, even more difficult on the tarmac. I struggled a lot in here."
We've been doing okay. Had a strange note here, a moment. But it's been a good morning and we're in a good solid place now. Latvala is quite far and we'll keep our pace.

I have to keep fighting, all I can do. Not in a good mood because of the puncture, but the feeling is fine and it's going well.
"Decent rally, lots of bumps in the stage, really narrow. Quite tricky.. nice stage for the spectators. Strange lines ahead of me.."
No problem, car is fine, all perfect. Mistake at the start, lost maybe some seconds. My note wasn't good, too outside of the line. Now only 2 cars in front of me cleaning, but overall happy.

I spun in a tricky place, couldn't reverse.. after that we had a good run. Happy.
Too careful.. will try to push harder. I can feel there's a lot more room for improvement.
It's a good time. I wanted to fight and I can't understand the puncture in the last stage.. everything went good until that.
Puncture "Nothing happened.. disappointment. We had a good rhythm.. slow puncture on the right rear. We did 22km with it.. very bad luck."

It's good, but we messed our plan with the front right puncture on last stage. We still have to drive our own rally, still a long way to go.
Very contained, we're not having any moments, have to take it a little easy. It's a long rally.

"We were a little lucky," he explains, "We had a problem with the left rear tyre or the suspension - I don't know exactly what - and on every left-hand corner we went wide and sideways. At one point we hit a bank and from then we backed off - and we lost a lot of time." And can you defend your lead tomorrow? "It'll be tough. Many drivers know tomorrow's stages well, but we'll have a road position advantage again, so we'll see if we can make the most of it again." - Nechybělo moc a Paddon skvělý den nedokončil. "Měli jsme trochu štěstí. Měli jsme problém s levou zadní pneumatikou nebo zavěšením
"Except for the mistake I've been happy with my day. And I must say Hayden has done a good job. It was a surprise really, but he has shown great speed." - Kromě té chyby jsem s dneškem spokojený. A musím říct, že Hayden dnes odvedl dobrou práci. Bylo to překvapení, ale ukázal výbornou rychlost.
"It's been fantastic. I'm very happy with the car, the tyres and even the weather forecasting. Only one stage - SS7 - I didn't like, but I'm very, very happy. Tomorrow is long, and even with two or three cars ahead it won't be easy to fight Hayden - he's done very good job today." - Bylo to fantastické. Jsem spokojený s autem, pneumatikami a dokonce i s předpovědí počasí. Nelíbila se mi pouze jedna jediná zkouška - RZ7, ale jsem hodně spokojený. Zítřek je dlouhý a i se dvěma či třema autama čistícíma trať nebude jednoduché bojovat s Haydenem. Dnes odváděl dobrou práci.

For me it's not rally - it's just endurance - but there's nothing i can do about that." - Moje pneumatiky jsou úplně sjeté. Byl to obtížný den, ale projeli jsme a už se těším na zítřek. Miluju tyhle zkoušky. Pro mě to není rally, je to jenom o vytrvalosti, ale nic s tím nenadělám.
"It's been really difficult for us but we managed and we are here. We'll just keep pushing ourselves to get better." - Bylo to skutečně hodně náročné pro nás, ale povedlo se a jsme tu. Budeme sami na sebe tlačit, abychom byli lepší.

"I drove in normal road mode. I'm happy with the changes I made to get us to the end. The turbo pipe went - like it did in Argentina last year - but this time I managed to keep us going." - Jel jsem na přejezdový režim. Jsem spokojený, že změny, které jsem udělal, nás dostaly do cíle. Hadice turba upadla, stejně jako loni v Argentině, ale tentokrát se mi podařilo nás udržet ve hře.
"I hit some rocks, broke the steering arm and then went across the road and hit some more. We fixed it. It was not so bad. My mistake though. All that's missing is a front drive-shaft - that's somewhere on the stage. We have only rear-wheel drive now." - Trefil jsem nějaké kameny, poškodil rameno zavěšení a pak pokračoval napříč cesty a narazil do dalších kamenů. Opravili jsme to. Nebylo to tak hrozné. Byla to moje chyba. Co nám chybí je přední kardan, ten zůstal někde na RZ. Nyní jedeme jenom s pohonem na zadek.

"Not bad. We struggled a bit more in here, especially at the end on the white gravel, other than that it's a nice comfortable pace and I'm loving driving this car." - Nebylo to zlé. Měli jsme tu trochu problémy, hlavně na konci té bílé šotoliny, mimo to si jedeme příjemné komfortní tempo a miluju řídit tohle auto.
"It happened on a chicane near the middle of the stage - my mistake. I ran wide and the wheel hit the bank." - V šikaně zhruba v prostředku zkoušky jsem udělal chybu. Byl jsem široký a trefil břeh.
"In the last section here I started to lose all the grip - it was like driving on ice." - V poslední části RZ jsem začal ztrácet všechnu přilnavost, bylo to jako jet po ledě.
"The feeling is good, so I'm not sure about the time. It's a bit strange because normally when the feeling is good the time is too. I don't know." - Mám z toho dobrý pocit, ale nejsem si jistý časem. Je to trochu divné, protože normálně když je dobrý pocit, tak je dobrý i čas. Nevím čím to teď je.
"For me a good stage, happy with my drive, but I reckon the guys behind will be faster on the final section." - Pro mě to byla dobrá zkouška, jsem spokojen s mou jízdou, ale počítám s tím, že kluci za mnou budou rychlejší v poslední sekci.

"An improvement on what's been happening so far. Nice to start finding a bit of a rhythm on these roads." - Zlepšení dosavadního vývoje. Příjemné je začít nacházet rytmus na těchto cestách.
Hlášeny dřívější problémy se spojkou, na což jezdec odpovídá. "Je to malý problém a v tuto chvíli mě nijak neznepokojuje. Doufejme, že to tak i zůstane."
"At one point Sordo's car came very close to us and we drove into a massive dust cloud. I couldn't see a thing. We were very lucky. I also have a gearbox problem now too." - V jednom místě jsme bili blízko Sordova auta a vjeli jsme do velkého oblaku prachu. Nic jsem neviděl. Měli jsme hodně štěstí. Ale také máme problém s převodovkou.
"Better than the morning, but we are still struggling in some places. It is difficult, but we are gaining more experience." - Lepší než ráno, ale v některých místech se stále trápíme. Je to těžké, ale získáváme další zkušenosti.
Zažil si menší krizovečku, když jeho Fiesta přistála ve křoví, ale žádná výrazná ztráta.
"It felt good for me, and the car feels great when the surface is nice and grippy. This morning we had a good road position, I'm really happy to have kept the speed up this afternoon." - Cítil jsem se dobře a měl jsem i dobrý pocit z auta tam, kde je povrch pěkný a přilnavý. Ráno jsme měli dobrou startovní pozici, jsem šťastný, že se nám daří držet rychlost i odpoledne.

Chytli jsme velkou skálu a jeli po dvou kolech. Jeli jsme měkké vzadu, tvrdé vpředu.
Zkouška byla těžká, měli jsme některé zajímavé momenty, kdy jsme se ztratili v rozpisu. Jsem rád, že jsme tuto RZ dokončili, bylo to opravdu těžké.
