Other info
During this special stage, last one of the first day, Jean Marchini lost control of his car along a narrow road at about 10 kms from the finish line. The Peugeot 205 GTI Group N #91 went off the road and fell into a 50-meter ravine. His co-driver, Jean-Michel Argenti was thrown out of the car, suffering injuries from which he was killed almost instantly. Jean Marchini sustained severe head injuries in the crash.
