Stages 1, 2, 5 and 6 were cancelled afterwards, because the clerk of the course forgot to specify penalties for cutting chicanes in supplementary regulations. This led to many competitors cutting the chicanes and gaining major advantages through that. In the end only two stages with 10 out of the original 28 stage kilometers were classified for overall results.
